Nancy Pelosi told the Democrats they can't impeach Donald Trump without the help of the Senate Republicans

Just four hours after Special Counsel Robert Mueller told everybody that Donald Trump isn’t being charged with a crime because he’s the president, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) again reminded Democrats that she can’t let the impeachment process go forward without the help of the Senate Republicans.

“But we do want to make such a compelling case, such an ironclad case that even the Republican Senate, which at the time seems to be not an objective jury, will be convinced of the path that we have to take as a country,” is what the Madam Speaker said.

Madam Speaker was at a sit down with folks at the Commonwealth Club when she made that comment to a reporter who asked the Madam Speaker about her thoughts concerning Mueller’s reason as to why he didn’t recommend sending the Capitol Police to arrest the commander-in-chief.

Robert Mueller gave four reasons as to why he did not recommend arresting Donald Trump.

The first reason is that Robert Mueller was the special counsel and not an independent counsel like Ken Starr was during former President Bill Clinton’s tenure. This means that as special counsel, Robert Mueller’s decisions had to be approved by the department the special counsel office came under. And the Department of Justice (DOJ) is the department the special counsel came under.

It is the DOJ’s policy to not charge a current president with a crime that he commits while in office. Therefore, the DOJ’s policy of not charging a current president with a crime he committed while in office prevented Robert Mueller from charging President Donald Trump with the crime of obstructing justice during the Russian investigation.

The last reason Mueller gave as to why he did not arrest Donald Trump is that the Constitution gives Congress the power to remove a current president they believe committed a crime while in office. That last part, along with Mueller’s comment that he couldn’t say without a doubt that Trump didn’t commit a crime, is why more Democrats, specifically the presidential candidates, are urging Speaker Pelosi to press the impeachment button.

Senator Kamala Harris (CA), who had been all about letting the process play out, is now saying it’s “time to begin the impeachment process.”

Like Senator Kamala Harris, Senators Cory Booker (NJ) and Elizabeth Warren (MA) are also now saying it’s time to exercise the impeachment option.

Former Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Bernie Sander (I-VT), though, are still on the let the process play out trip.

Unlike the previous three, Biden and Sanders are number one and number two in the polls.

Just like the Madam Speaker, both men were in Congress when the impeachment of former President Bill Clinton took place.

The front row seat to that process makes them more cautious and reasonable than their respective colleagues who were just making their way into the world of politics back in the 90s.

The Madam Speaker, the former Veep, and the distinguish gentleman from Vermont all understand this is about more than just satisfying the crowd on the left. It’s about keeping the country together.

The country doesn’t want to get rid of ol’ Donald John through the impeachment process.

And the one thing the Democrats don’t need to do is to go against the will of the People because doing what the People don’t want them to do could lead to the Democrats losing the little bit of power they have in Congress right now.

Don’t believe me?! Go ask former Speaker of the House Newt (Newt Newt) Gingrich. He’ll tell you. You lose this game if you can’t think on your feet. And right now, the Democratic leadership has to think on their feet. And listening to the People is a major part of that.

The one thing the Democratic leadership doesn’t need, right now, is to be knocked off their feet onto their behinds.

Don’t go getting all ornery, now, this doesn’t mean folks believe ol’ Donald John is without sin like man was in the beginning.

All the good, decent, hearted, reasonable folks are saying is that there are better ways to handle this situation here.

And those better ways are either to let ol’ Donald John do himself in by putting his foot so far down his own throat that he kicks his own “sunny side.” Or, we can get rid of ol’ Donald John the ol’ fashion way, which is by voting him out of office.
